R.I.P. #78

A tough season in 2012 claimed the life of my one and only, #78.  There are always new things in the works, but none will take the place of the first in my heart.

Race 2: Three Strikes, You're Out.

After the hardest wreck of my young racing career, it was time to fix my car, as well as my nerves.  The mark of a real racecar driver is one that returns week in and week out, no matter the circumstances.  I planned to do just that and more in The Memorial Day Classic.

Race 1: Opening Round

This weekend I found a new favorite racing quote thanks to my good friend Amanda Habel: Objects in mirror are losing.  I also learned this weekend, that is not true if you are facing the wrong way.

Geo Turned Race Car

Finely Dressed Women, Trash Talks, and Big Trophies

As the offseason wanes on, and racers become more and more restless, the work never ceases.  Winter always feel endless until you reach the ACT Banquet, at which point you realize practice is a few short months away, and that pile of scrap metal you call a racecar that is in pieces on your garage floor needs to be a rocket ship in short order.

Not to mention, nothing inspires race car drivers more than finely dressed women, trash talking, and offensively large trophies.  All of which the ACT banquet has.

The old #78 machine will be back this year, even though current pictures of it may seem like it may not be, but things are already starting to take shape.

Union Mutual has signed on to sponsor both my #78 car as well as my Dad's #77 machine on the hood.  Thank god for it, as I would likely not be able to race as broke college kid without their support.  I can't thank them enough for their support in 2010, and I looked forward to continuing this partnership through 2011.

As the cars begin to come together, I will try to keep this site updated.  Senior year at UVM has been challenging for me, as well as some new developments with me possibly going to Teach for America this summer that have made me lose touch with this site.  I will do my best to keep fans, family, and friends updated through these cold times.

For now, enjoy the new header, updated info, and check out the new and improved "Want a Site?" section, with severely lowered prices!
